THE ISSUES
Cultural Erosion
Kampung Attap has a unique cultural identity that is under threat due to ongoing urbanization and modernization.
Lack of Communal Spaces
The lack of communal spaces reduces the opportunities for residents to come together and engage in recreational activities.
Lack of Access to Quality Education
Many children in Kampung Attap do not receive proper schooling due to financial constraints or a lack of educational facilities in the area.
Cultural erosion has also led to the disappearance of traditional practices in Kampung Attap. The younger generation, influenced by urban lifestyles and Western ideals, is less inclined to engage in traditional activities.
Studies have shown that communal spaces play a vital role in promoting mental well-being by providing opportunities for social support, reducing stress, and enhancing overall quality of life.
THE IMPACT
This limits their opportunities for personal growth and future success, perpetuating the cycle of poverty in the community.
